KingstonSEO.com is built as plain, static HTML: no JavaScript, no dynamic widgets, no third-party embeds. That construction rules out most of what commonly breaks accessibility on the web — focus traps, ARIA misuse, content that changes without warning a screen reader.

The standard

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Larger organizations and public bodies in Ontario are required under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA; this site is built to the newer, higher 2.2 AA standard as a matter of practice, not because the law requires it of a business this size.

What that means in practice here

• Semantic HTML structure: real headings in order, real lists, real paragraphs, not visual formatting standing in for structure.
• Colour contrast meeting AA minimums in both light and dark display modes.
• Full keyboard navigation — every link and control on this site is reachable and usable without a mouse, since there's nothing here that requires one.
• No images without accompanying text, and no information conveyed by colour alone.
